social worker
I want to major in social working because most of my life I have been involved with social workers and I want to help the kids who have been going through stuff I have been or even worse. But im also scared to get attached to the cases. What do I mean by that? For example to get attached to one of the kids, and for the things they're going through
scholarships
It makes me sad because right now in high school I haven't done any sports, and my grades haven't been the best, therefore im super scared to not get accepted to the universities of my dreams which would be sacramento state. I feel like its to late and sac state will just look at my application and laugh but im going to sill apply and I want to start applying for scholarships but once again I don't know where to go for them and if I will actually get the help.

Literature analysis
1. The book I chose was the lovely bones , our narrator Susie Salmon, she died December 6th, 1973. She wasurdered and raped by her neighbor one day after school . Mr.Harvey, her neighbors had a shelter underground. One day after school he lured Susie into the shelter , she noticed it was a mistake once she was in and it was to late and from them and there she was in ‘ heaven ‘ , well her personal heaven, I guess everyone gets one when they pass. Her parents noticed she was missing and reported it. Months passed and her parents were still trying to figure out her case. Later on in the book Susie as a ghost drops hints on what happened to her and they figure it out .
2.Theme : mystery , because they had to solve the case of her murder
3. I feel like the author gets up late, drinks coffe, no breakfast and sleeps in late .
NEXT LEVEL
1. What lured me into this book? I saw the movie and enjoyed it so much, but I enjoyed the book so more , it had more details then the movie
2. The first 10 got kinda boring, why? Because all it talked about were the basics like the theme, location, characters
3. I usually read the book when I was on my way to sleep, because I needed something to get me sleepy .
The authors tone throughout the story went from calm to intense, you never knew when the big things were going to happen, it had many detail and showed the author took its time on this novel . I feel like the authors purpose was to get us to think and also feel sorrow .
After I read this novel I realized readinf wasn’t that bad , I feel like I somewhat connected with the character and felt her fear, and her families sorrows .

What’s up next for me ?
i really do enjoy this class, not only for the people but the way dr Preston’s teaches , Ive learned that no answer is the wrong answer , unless it comes to a vocab test , but in this class there’s always going to be success as long as you put in the work

What I notice
Recently I’ve noticed the reasons why people get made fun of. Well there is no valid reason to
Tease someone but people make fun of others because they are ‘ anti social ‘ or maybe they just aren’t anti social but since they don’t socialize with the same group as others then they are considered anti social to others. Another reason is their choice of sexuality. Kids get made fun of for being gay or bisexual and I don’t believe that’s right because its none of our business about each other’s sexuality because it doesn’t affect us in any way.

Life goal
My life goal is to major in sociology I think that’s what I need to become a social worker. I wanna become a social worker because I’ve dealt with them most of my life. I want to help kids who had the same struggles as I did growing up. I want to live in San Francisco or maybe Los Angeles , and just build myself up before I can start a family . I want to get my major at Sacramento state because that is my dream school. The campus is amazing and the vibe and atmosphere is amazing .
Self reliance
Self reliance is very impossible to me. No one will ever be there for you like you are there for yourself, by that I mean no one will ever try to Benifit you like you wanna benefit yourself. To me I want the best for me and I can only get that for myself . To me that is self reliance .
My opinon about people on social media is that they act really immature. They bully people which is cyber bully because it’s online and they make others feel insecure , they do that because they feel insecure themselves . I do not necessarily believe they’re scared but I do
Think they are cowards for making others feel less .

Letter to my Mentor
To my older sister,
Thank you for the lecturers and advice you’ve given me. I assume a mentor is someone who tries to lead you towards the correct direction. For me, that is you. The older I get the more I realize Is all you’ve ever wanted was nothing but the best for me. You believe In me when i don’t even believe in myself. From the struggles we’ve lived , until now I’ve never seen you give up. From graduating high school without dad being around, to now graduating CSU Fresno , and being a great mom. You’ve never let me down . Like they say , there is no better friend then a sister , and there’s no better sister then you ...
Your sister ,
Rosa Santillan

Sexism has been a huge problem for centuries actually. Many kids growing up, even myself have been taught what's specifically for girls and what's for boys. For example, growing up my parents always bought me pink items, because according to them pink is only for girls. It's sad to say that anything and everything is already chosen out for us. In my high school, apparently football is only a ' boy' sport, and no girl ever really makes the team . If a guy were to do cheer or ballet he is automatically considered gay. I wish this problem would have faded away, or even disappear because believe it or not this problem has been around for quite a while, but the problems were different in a way. Men were allowed to speak their mind while us women were not. August 26th, 1920 women all over the United States were granted their rights, but are they even treated with the same respect as men? No. It is sad because a lot of people, men to be exact, even some women actually, do not have the same amount of faith on women as they do with men. They do not believe that women are capable of running a country just like men are , or even better. Because of that lack of faith we got stuck with the president we have today. The one who believes that men are more powerful and mistreats and talks bad on us women. It's sad ... it's reality .
